This is also the first Indian study, to report a case of human infection due to E. xenobiotica. Phylogenetic analysis of sequencing data from three independent regions i.e., ITS and two housekeeping genes (β-tubulin, and β-actin gene) unambiguously showed that the isolate NCCPF 106033 formed branches distinct from other species and we propose the novel species E. The gene discussed is ACTB; the disease is infection.
