Based on the RNA sequencing data, hepcidin expression was significantly reduced in Grade-IV compared to Grade-I/II HCCs (Figure 2A), in microvascular-invaded tumors compared to non-invaded tumors (Figure 2B), in Stage-IV compared to Stage-I cases (Figure 2C), in patients with non-alcohol fatty liver disease (NAFLD) compared to patients without any risk factors (Figure 2D), as well as in patients with severe liver fibrosis compared to non-fibrosis patients (Figure 2E). Here, HAMP is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
