In a study on the herb pair Hedyotis diffusa and Sculellaria barbata against CRC, it was found that this compatibility of medicines inhibited the tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo, which might be related to apoptosis induction through the EGFR/PPAR gamma/PI3K/AKT pathway (Lu et al., 2020a).
