MAPT and Mental deterioration: Consistent with this, we note that the effect of CSF sTREM2 on cognitive decline (i.e., higher level of CSF sTREM2 relates to slower longitudinal decline on CDR-SB scores) was significant at the A+ T+ AD dementia stage, possibly subsequent to its effect on Aβ accumulation that appears maximal at the MCI stage and this interestingly was independent of its association with CSF t-tau and p-tau levels.
