With the recent availability of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody (MOG-Ab) testing in China, and the acceptance of MOG-Abs-associated disorders as a unique demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS)7, the concept of ON as “atypical” depending on the antibody status, as well as the treatment strategy, has been updated8. The gene discussed is MOG; the disease is demyelinating disease.
