In a series of 25 patients treated with high-dose tamoxifen and sulindac, the efficacy of this regime was demonstrated.16 In one series, patients who received tamoxifen with NSAIDs had the greatest response when compared to other agents (NSAID with warfarin and vitamin K1); out of 7 patients, 5 had a major reduction in tumor size.17 Many studies do not report on the existence of estrogen receptors in the tumor, making it difficult to conclude the efficacy of antiestrogen agents. This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and neoplasm.
