Clinical investigations assessing the changes in renal hemodynamics in patients with severe obesity before and 1 year after bariatric surgery showed a considerable decrease in BMI from 48 Kg/m2 to 32 Kg/m2 (103) and a considerable improvement in eGFR, RPF, albuminuric state and fractional clearance of albumin. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
