Treatment of patients using TNF-α antagonists (Infliximab, Etanercept, and Adalimumab) is based on control of the inflammatory response, which is effective in severe and refractory manifestations of BD.7 Treatment with IFN, primarily INF-α, has demonstrated benefits for habitual treatment of the disease, with effective antiviral, antitumoral, and immunomodulatory activities in management of BD.1 However, there is still a lack of data on the ideal therapeutic approaches and informative laboratory markers for monitoring disease progression are also lacking.21 The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is Behcet disease.
