APOE and Alzheimer disease: For a representative 65-year-old female non-APOE ε4-carrier, short and long rLTL increased the AD cumulative incidences when compared with medium rLTL (Fig. 1a); however, if she was a carrier of the APOE ε4 allele, the associations were inverted, and short and long rLTLs decreased AD cumulative incidences in comparison with the medium rLTL group (Fig. 1b; see also Supplementary Table 2).
