IGFBP5 and coronary artery disorder: In this context, fish oil is capable of enhancing methylation of ATF1 (activating transcription factor 1), which induces the production of atheroprotective macrophages and HDAC4 (histone deacetylase 4), which encodes for muscle differentiation and neuronal survival and, finally, fish oil is capable of reducing methylation of IGFBP5 (insulin-like growth factor binding protein 5), which encodes for the production of this hormone whose increase is observed in young patients with coronary heart disease.
