Tomita et al. (2012) showed that the expression of p53 and p66Shc was up-regulated in the liver tissue of the NASH mouse model. Montagner et al. (2016a) found that lack of PPARα in hepatocytes leads to susceptibility to steatosis, which may be related to the damage of fatty acid catabolism. Inhibition of MAPK signaling pathway also showed the effect of reducing liver lipid deposition and liver fibrosis in rats (Shen et al., 2019). The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
