KCNQ1 and cerebrovascular disorder: Third, Cys C may be involved in inflammation,[35–41] which is considered to deteriorate the infarction volume and lead to a poorer prognosis of stroke.[48] Moreover, the membrane protein KCNQ1 reportedly forms a channel complex with KCNE1 or other members of the KCNE family (E1–E5) in the kidney.[49] The KCNQ1 potassium ion channel has been illustrated to be directly involved in cardiovascular diseases.[50] Whether this protein is involved in cerebrovascular disease remains unknown.
