The same study showed that a CB1 antagonist, N-(piperidin-1-1yl)-5-(4-iodophenyl)-1-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)-4-methyl-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxamide (AM251), induced apoptosis and transcriptional changes of the genes involved in the janus kinase/signal transducers, activators of transcription signalling network (JAK/STAT) and MAPK signalling pathways in the MIA PaCa-2 pancreatic cancer cell line through activation independent of the CB1 receptor-independent pathways (Fogli et al. 2006). The gene discussed is CNR1; the disease is pancreatic neoplasm.
