Conversely, mice lacking hematopoietic IGF2BP2 (IGF2BP2–/– → WT) exhibited asthma pathologies comparable to wild type mice (WT → WT), concomitant with significantly recruitment of inflammatory cells to the lungs, dense peribronchial infiltrates (Figure 6c), the total number in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) (Figure 6d), as well as macrophages, lymphocytes, neutrophils, and eosinophils among all analyzed cell types in BALFs (Figure 6e). The gene discussed is IGF2BP2; the disease is asthma.
