We used the oestrogen-receptor positive cell line, MCF7, based on our observation that the association of ITGA7 with survival after chemotherapy was strongest in oestrogen-receptor positive cancers, and we used the anthracycline epirubicin as a representative chemotherapy agent, since this class of agents is used in the vast majority of breast cancer cases that receive chemotherapy. This evidence concerns the gene ITGA7 and breast cancer.
