Although the average protein lengths for DDR (745 a.a.)and non-DDR (675 a.a.)are very similar, we compared the accumulation of somatic and germline variants in the most affected cancer-predisposition genes ATM, BRCA1, BRCA2, MLH1, MSH2, and MSH6 as a function of protein length (Supplementary Fig. S6). This evidence concerns the gene ATM and cancer.
