The other chemokines evaluated, GM-CSF and MCP-1(CCL2), which have important roles in early immunity against cutaneous leishmaniasis [63], were not detected in our study, possibly due to the absence of some cytokines and chemokines associated with their expression, which were not promoted by the nanocomposite, at least in the first 24 h, demonstrating other ways to fight the parasite. Here, CCL2 is linked to cutaneous leishmaniasis.
