PINK1 expression was upregulated in ESCC patients who underwent chemotherapy and associated with drug resistance as well as poor prognosis for ESCC patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy [44], whereas our results showed that PINK1 was identified as a protective gene and its high expression was associated with favorable prognosis in EAC. This evidence concerns the gene PINK1 and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
