In conclusion, our results suggest that GCs can inhibit ERS-related ATF4 and CHOP expression and confer protective effects against ERS damage and potential apoptosis in inner ear cells; and also that GCs may alleviate SNHL by inhibiting ERS, which may be one of the mechanisms of action for GC treatment in patients with SNHL.
