Lipid metabolism remodelling has an important role in the occurrence and development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), mainly involving lipid biosynthesis and desaturation caused by upregulation of numerous crucial enzymes [ACL, acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC), fatty acid synthase (FASN), and stearoyl-coenzyme A desaturase-1 (SCD1)] in fatty acid biosynthesis. Here, FASN is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
