It should be pointed out that despite the statistically significant correlation between KDM7A expression and SMAD expression being recorded, the correlation was relatively weak (R2 = 0.15–0.4), which indicates that alternative mechanisms, in addition to the one proposed here, might contribute to the regulation of KDM7A transcription in breast cancer cells and need to be addressed in future studies.
