The rabbit, exclusively, has the following genes related to the TE phenotype at that region: WDR60, ESYT2, NCAPG2, UBE3C, LMBR1, RNF32, SHH, RBM33, and NOM1. Other sensitive species share GIMAPs (GTPase, IMAP Family Members), which may be associated with Behcet’s syndrome, a condition treated with thalidomide (Shek and Lim, 2002), as well as cancer-related genes, such as RARRES2 and TMEM176A (Supplementary Table 2). The gene discussed is RBM33; the disease is Behcet disease.
