The most common gene mutations such as rat sarcoma gene (RAS), v-Raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B (BRAF), and Telomerase reverse transcriptase promoter gene (TERTp) mutations were described in HCC but always in lower frequency than in non-oncocytic neoplasms (2, 68–74). The gene discussed is BRAF; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
