Interestingly, LPS-binding protein (LBP), an acute phase reactant, can remove LPS by attaching to it tightly, neutralizing its actions, suggesting a therapeutic potential in ME/CFS (Mathison et al., 1992; Goldblum et al., 1994; Giloteaux et al., 2016).
