Previous evidence suggests that numerous other variables are associated with osteoporotic fractures, including RA, type I diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, Cushing’s syndrome, androgen therapy, glucocorticoids, antidepressants and aromatase inhibitors [25], yet none were identified as independent risk factors for subsequent fracture in the present study.
