Wallace et al. found that after ATP7B variants with low penetrance were excluded, the revised prevalence rate was approximately 1/20,000, that the prevalence rate of WD was higher among Asians and Ashkenazi Jews, and that the prevalence rates of WD in the UK and France were lower than the reported values (Coffey et al., 2013; Collet et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene ATP7B and Wilson disease.
