The strata with high lipid levels (3rd tertile) and BMI greater than the cut-offs (20, 21, and 22 Kg/m2) showed significantly lower hazard of all-cause and infection-related mortality and lower odds of elevated inflammatory markers, namely CRP > 5 mg/dL, WBC >10 X 103/μL, and NL ratio >4 (Supplementary Tables 7–11). Here, CRP is linked to infection.
