Auraptene induces apoptosis in prostate cancer cells through activation of caspase-9/3 and Bax, inhibition of Bcl-2 and myeloid cell leukemia 1 (Mcl-1), increases in the number of transferase dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL)-positive cells and sub-G1 population, and regulation of apoptosis-related proteins such as poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) (Lee et al., 2017).
