Serpin Family A Member 1 (SERPINA1) is a protein with a highly conserved structure and the most important protease inhibitor in humans whose expression is increased in malignant tumors, and it has been proven to be a predictor of poor prognosis for high-grade gliomas (HGGs), cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) [43–45]. Here, SERPINA1 is linked to cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.
