Given the role of G-CSF in stimulating neutrophils and the role of neutrophils and ANCA antibodies in the pathogenesis of ANCA associated vasculitis (AAV), the possibility of developing or exacerbating an acute ANCA-associated pauci-immune glomerulonephritis with G-CSF should be considered. This evidence concerns the gene CSF3 and anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis.
