Relevant to the main topic discussed in this review, numerous host kinases undergo abnormal activation during viral infection of neurons (McLean and Bachenheimer, 1999; Zachos et al., 1999; Nakamichi et al., 2005; Gillis et al., 2009; Gupta et al., 2011; Wang et al., 2015), including some involved in the regulation of motor proteins. This evidence concerns the gene IMMT and viral infectious disease.
