There were significant reductions post-surgery in GGT (36 vs. 22.8; p = 0.001), fasting glucose (5.7 vs. 4.9; p < 0.001), insulin level (20.9 vs. 8.5; p < 0.001), HbA1c (5.7% vs. 5.2%; p < 0.001), total cholesterol (5.3 vs. 4.8; p < 0.001), triglycerides (1.6 vs. 1.2; p < 0.001) and in the NAFLD score (−1.636 vs. −2.123, p < 0.001). Here, INS is linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
