Additionally, thrombocytopenia in SLE can have numerous etiologies including, for example, antibodies (anti-glyco-protein IIb/IIIa and anti-thrombopoietin receptor) against platelets, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, peripheral consumption, bone marrow disease including aplastic anemia and myelofibrosis [10–12].
