ALB and peritonitis: In the multivariate Cox proportional hazards model (Table 5), low levels of serum albumin (HR = 0.932, 95% CI 0.896–0.969, p = 0.004) and high peritoneal transport type (high and high-average) (HR = 1.872, 95% CI 1.349–2.599, p = 0.006) were independent risk factors for the first episode of peritonitis.
