Adenomyosis is characterized by a specific profile of cytokines with increased levels of antitumoral cytokines (such as interferon‐γ, tumor necrosis factor‐α, and interleukin 10) and decreased levels of oncogenic cytokines and growth factors (such as interleukin 1‐beta, interleukin 8, epidermal growth factor, and transforming growth factor). This evidence concerns the gene IL10 and adenomyosis.
