These lesions included bronchiolitis with some epithelial necrosis, loss or attenuation, and peribronchial mixed inflammation which included macrophages, neutrophils and eosinophils, and occasional epithelial syncytial cells (previously reported to be pancytokeratin positive and CD68 negative, confirming their epithelial cell origin [34]). The gene discussed is CD68; the disease is bronchiolitis.
