WEE1 and cancer: Using the genome‐wide CRISPR screen of 808 cell lines derived from many cancer types from the Broad Institute, we found that WEE1 was essential for the viability of almost all cell lines, independently from their lineage.[7, 8, 9] Analysis was based on the CERES dependency score, a lower score indicating a higher likelihood that the gene is essential in a given cell line.
