Thus, decreasing CaSR expression may reduce the hypersecretion of ACTH and GH that are observed in 4.8–10% and 13–20% of pituitary adenomas, respectively, and could provide a possible treatment for Cushing’s disease and acromegaly, common co-morbidities of ACTH and GH hypersecretion (Mehta & Lonser 2017, Lines et al. 2020).
