AC-YVAD-CMK, a well-known selective inhibitor of caspase-1, has been found to have a protective effect on the liver, brain, and lung in mouse models of septic shock in previous studies [10–12]; however, there are still no reports on whether AC-YVAD-CMK can prevent the kidney from damage in sepsis-induced acute kidney injury. This evidence concerns the gene CASP1 and acute kidney injury.
