Over the past several years, these Qki mutant mouse models and the use of pluripotent human stem cell differentiation system has revealed a series of important functions of QKI in much broader biological systems, such as cardiovascular development and function, monocyte to macrophage differentiation (de Bruin et al., 2016a), bone metabolism (Jacome-Galarza et al., 2019; Rauwel et al., 2020), and cancer pathogenesis (Darbelli and Richard, 2016).
