The dual PI3K and mTOR inhibitor compound dactolisib (NVP-BEZ235) is broadly effective against NHL, inducing cell death and strongly repressing the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway (29, 59); however, the clinical development of dactolisib was terminated due to toxicity (60–62). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
