A variant found in the GLP1R gene (rs6923761; chr6:39034072) reduces the treatment efficacy for obesity and type II diabetes (i.e., sitagliptin, vildagliptin, and liraglutide) (Javorský et al., 2016) and its frequency is significantly lower in Roma than in the tested European populations (Supplementary Table 11). The gene discussed is GLP1R; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
