The discovery and characterization of proglucagon-derived peptides have produced therapeutics as the GLP-2 analog (teduglutide) for short bowel syndrome, multiple GLP-1 analogs (e.g. dulaglutide, liraglutide and semaglutide), and the novel glucagon analog (dasiglucagon) essential for controlling metabolism and blood glucose levels in the treatment of type-2-diabetic patients (3, 4, 6, 97). Here, GLP1R is linked to short bowel syndrome.
