Recently, gene and protein expression comparison analysis between SCAs and functioning ACTHomas has been performed using both RNA-seq and mass spectrometry-based proteomics technology, revealing the downregulation of the gene related to protein processing in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) pathway and upregulation of PCSK1N, an inhibitor of PC1/3 coding PCSK1 gene. The gene discussed is PCSK1; the disease is ACTH-producing pituitary gland adenoma.
