Recently, the identification of additional driver oncogenes, such as epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK), ROS proto-oncogene 1 (ROS1), and rearranged during transfection (RET), in NSCLC patients has led to new targeted treatments [9], greatly improving clinical practice. Here, ALK is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
