EZH2 and pulmonary fibrosis: We and other investigators have found a pivotal role of M2-like macrophages in decreasing the fibroproliferative response after LPS-induced lung injury [5, 20, 21] and that EZH2 inhibition has the capacity to blunt M1 macrophage polarization in CLP-induced lung inflammation [10], therefore we next set out to examine the macrophage phenotypic changes in the LPS-induced pulmonary fibrosis by isolating monocytic cells from BALF on day 14 post LPS instillation and evaluating the mRNA and protein levels of macrophages markers.
