A limited number of publications have prospectively analyzed the correlation of the HOMA-IR, glycosylated hemoglobin, sex hormone-binding globulin, and cholesterol panel values as a marker for prediction subsequent GDM in low-risk pregnancies during the first trimester of pregnancy but they have low sensitivity and positive predictive value, especially in overweight and obese women.
