Using multiple approaches, we demonstrated that (i) overexpression of PFKFB4 increased the proliferative ability of cancer cells; (ii) 231 cells expressing a high level of PFKFB4 exhibited increased resistance to cisplatin; and (iii) PFKFB4 expression at a high level promoted growth and invasion in vivo. The gene discussed is PFKFB4; the disease is cancer.
