Even in the small sample in this study, changes in gut microbiome became clear, namely, that people that suffered from cancer demonstrated a higher abundance of Rikenellacea (phylum Bacteroidetes; related to P13K/AKT pathway) Eubacteriacea, Clostridia and Clostridiales bacerria (phylum Fimircutes) [4]. Here, AKT1 is linked to cancer.
