It has been described that survivin expression in tumor cells is linked to increased β-catenin protein levels and, consequently, increased expression of factors regulated by the β-catenin-Tcf/Lef transcriptional pathway, such as VEGF, and it resulted in induction of angiogenesis in a PI3K/Akt-β-catenin-Tcf/Lef-dependent manner.
